INTERNET MARKETING
I have worked in retail sales for over 25 years, and you know what? I hated every single second of it. Why did I stay so long? Because it was safe, because it was what I knew. A little over 10 years ago I attempted to start a mail-order business selling self-help products, tapes CD’s and books etc. This lasted about a month, the cost of physical products, storage and postage killed me real quick. Another dream dead and back to retail.
All was not lost. If I gained anything from retail sales it was knowledge. How to sell, how to interact with customers and how to market. A few years ago I got into selling on the web. My first products were magickal amulets & talismans (charms). I have an interest in ancient symbols so I looked around the net, and did some digging for demand on witchcraft & new-age products, a couple of months later www.talismagick.com was born.
Yes, it’s still using physical items & postage, but now I create my own products and I can market them to the whole world from my computer. The light-bulb suddenly goes on - hey, there’s money to be made on the internet........ duh! (I am a bit slow to learn sometimes). Fast forward 6 months and I’m making a weekly wage, for only a little actual work. Alright, that’s a tiny lie. I had to market & promote my behind off. I now have no behind.
My progression to non-physical products started when I created a small downloadable PDF spell book. It took a week to write, and when I e-mailed my slowly growing list of customers I sold 30 copies @ $10 in a few hours. Wow, I can make $300 in a few hours from an item that doesn’t require manufacture or postage. After that, I am a self-confessed internet infopreneur. Just how much money could I make with a huge list of customers & great products?

So, that’s my brief tale of how I arrived at setting-up iNFOMANIAC.biz. Now, I want you to sign-up, while this site will contain some basic info, the e-letters (the e-letters will be archived by date so you can refer to them later) will go into more detail on the various topics, and, as I learn & make mistakes (believe me I have made many) I will pass on the data to you! Now, onto the topic at hand...................
Internet Marketing, for every Guru making millions (or pretending to) there are 1000’s of individuals and small business not making a profit. Why? There’s plenty of reasons: no knowledge or the wrong information, no plan or no patience.
You have to realize in this business that your primary function is Internet Marketer, you may be a manager or a web designer or a retail person, but your main job is to market your business, product or service. Sounds obvious huh? But I have met heaps of people that have an awesome product or idea and scratch their heads wondering why no ones buying from them.
Just because you have a website doesn’t mean diddly if no one knows its there. Your first, and most crucial job is to market, promote and get your details out onto the internet while collecting customers info - name & email address. When you have a big list you can sell, promote and make some real money!
To get this big list you require traffic! This means getting people to your website. The next step is to get customers interested in your product or service.
